Are you enjoying this beautiful weather we are having? I am soaking up every drop!

Sunny, warm weather is great but sometimes our world can just look ugly and messy. We are all plagued with problems and trials, pain and tears. The evil that surrounds us is unavoidable.

It is so easy to only see the mess, the problems, the yuck. We can get so depressed when we focus on the ugliness of our world. God has been teaching me to see the "beauty amidst the mess" lately as I go through my days. The reflection of the changing leaves of our tree in the bowl of dirty dishes I'm washing or the heart shape that the bowl of Cheerios made when it was dumped on the floor. It's not always obvious and it's not always immediately there but God has made everything beautiful for its own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

I think one of the greatest ways God does this is by using our pain for His purpose. We can take what we've learned and how we've grown to help others who are dealing with similar trials. Wouldn't all that angst and struggle be worth it if we knew that in the end we would be helping to ease the pain of someone else?

Use the knowledge you've gained with the empathy you have for your situation to help someone else out. Keep your eyes open. Look for ways to make a positive impact on another girl or woman. Think about becoming a mentor to someone who needs the hope you can offer to them through Jesus.

Then no matter what our outcome is, evil hasn't won. Beauty has been made from our mess.

Happy Fall! Yesterday we were reminded by Eric Samuel Timm to "share our love."  Whether that be families on the other side of the world or right here in our community, we need to spread the love and hope that Jesus brings to those that are hurting and in need. Small things can make a huge impact in the lives of another.

Yesterday, I heard of a single mother of 2 young children from Muskego that lost her home and belongings in a fire recently. Unfortunately, she did not have renters insurance and has now lost everything, including her car that blew up due to the intense fire. My heart breaks for this mom as she is working very hard to keep her kids in school and keep life as normal as possible for them.

Sara Wiesner's sister in law is good friends with this woman and they both have been collecting donations to help her replace the things that were lost.  If you are able to donate anything, please let us know (nurturewfa@hotmail.com). This family could sure use our love and support right now.

Clothing sizes:
Mom - medium tops, size 9 pants, 9 shoe
Daughter - size 6/7, size 2 shoe
Son - 3T bottom, 4T tops

They will also need a couch, beds, etc. once they get back into their own place. If you have any of those items you would be willing to donate, let us know and we will keep that in mind for when she can take them.

Amy Prebil is opening up the Little Blessings meeting this Thursday to anyone who wants to come pray for this family. She is collecting cash to be given as a donation along with anything else you might have to give.

Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with this family and offering them hope during these difficult days!

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
The King will reply, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."  Matthew 25:35-40

Playdate Update

I just wanted to give you a few updates and changes concerning our upcoming play dates:

There will be a $4 parking charge at Retzer Nature Center for our playdate next Tuesday, September 23.

Also, due to the lack of response to the Green Meadows Farm Playdate on October 10th, Aimee has decided to change both the date and location. This Playdate will now be on Tuesday, October 7th at Kids in Motion. (There is a charge for this Playdate.)

Lastly, Aimee is looking for someone to open their home and host the Monday, October 20 Playdate. If you would be interested in doing this, please contact Aimee as soon as possible. (aimee.heder@gmail.com)

One other thing, if you are planning to attend the play dates, PLEASE let Aimee or I know - especially if you will be arriving late. If no one shows up to a Playdate by 9:15 am, Aimee may not continue to stay if she hasn't heard from anyone.

Thank you for your help and understanding in all of this!  We truly plan these play dates with you in mind and want to provide the best opportunities for you to meet up with other moms and their kids. Any feedback is always appreciated because we love to know what you are thinking! (Nurtureatwfa@hotmail.com)

Nurture Newsletter / September 15

Nurture Newsletter
September 15, 2014

A new season is about to begin: Autumn.  Time seems to go so quickly that every time I turn around, another season is starting up again.

That is how I feel about motherhood, too. Just when I get in the groove of things, a new season begins and I am in need of adjusting to the new "climate" and schedule.

A lot of times, I still hadn't gotten a handle on life in the last season and I am thrown into the next. I have spent way too many seasons in "survival" mode because of that; just doing what I need to do for everyone to survive. While I think sometimes that mode is necessary, I also think I can slip into it too easy; my autopilot setting. When life gets overwhelming, I tend to shut down and go into this type of autopilot lifestyle.

While, yes, I am surviving (sometimes just barely), I'm not thriving. I want to thrive in this role God has placed me in. He wants me to thrive, as well, and He is the only one who can help me do that.

I'm praying that God gives me the patience and grace and wisdom to embrace each new season I enter. To learn what I need to know and to teach my kids throughout each one. I want to feel confident as I pass from season to season; not that I will know everything but that with God's help, I will figure things out as I go.

I'm praying the same for you in whatever season you find yourself in. Let's thrive together!

School is back in session and the Fall season is rapidly approaching.

I tend to have an inner struggle this time of year. I hate for summer to end and for the kids to have to start up their school routine again. Yet, I also look forward to summer ending and the kids starting their school routine again (and a few hours without them in the house.) Am I the only one? Probably not.

I encourage you to pray over and for your students as you let them go each day. There is nothing better you could do for them.

Our Moms in Prayer group will be starting up in October again.
