We're praying you have a beautiful Thanksgiving as we reflect on everything we have to be truly grateful for and celebrate those blessings with loved ones!

Here are a few opportunities to be a blessing to others this holiday season:

THE BLESSING TREE

It is now up in the atrium.  Please stop by and take an "ornament" and write down your name and the number of the ornament you select.  Further instructions can be found on the ornament itself.  Gifts are needed back by Sunday, December 14th.

World Vision Christmas Farm
In Kidtropolis we want to spread the love of Jesus in the form of a farm!  Our goal is to help provide animals to needy countries supplying them with meat, eggs, milk, clothes, and more!  We would love for each child to work extra chores and bring in $5 per week in an effort to give the gift of food this Christmas.  See Pastor Geoff to grab a flyer or ask any questions about this years' Christmas Farm!

FOOD PANTRY AND SOLES FOR JESUS COLLECTIONS

In case you weren't aware, we have a collection point in the foyer for the Waukesha Food Pantry, and one in Uptown for shoes to be donated to Soles for Jesus.  We collect all year for these ministries.

Nursery News

During the cold and flu season, our nursery is being disinfected weekly and paying attention to symptoms of illness to keep it a well baby area.  If you are parents of nursery age kids, would you consider volunteering once a month to help with our growing baby population?  Please see Amy Prebil in the nursery or email amyprebil@gmail.com with questions or interest.

Treehouse Treasures

Our church family is growing!  Many babies have come and will be coming in the next few weeks/months.  We would love to bless our new moms with a gift bag filled with newborn items (diapers, wipes, baby bath items, onesies, gowns, or swaddlers).  Amy Prebil organizes this and has set up a Treasure Chest back in our nursery area to accept item donations.

Community Opportunity

Elmbrook Church has started a program called "Walking School Bus".  The purpose is to assist Whittier students in getting to school on time and safely.  There are three starting locations, all within a mile of Whittier.  Volunteers meet there by 7:50 am and walk the students to school.  If you would like to be involved, please contact Jason Knapp at jknapp@elmbrook.org

Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

This verse has meant so much to me for the past 4 years. God has been whispering this verse to me over and over again the past few months. God has done exceedingly abundantly more than I could ever ask or imagine in my life and I know that He is not done yet. I am excited that this is also the Unleashed verse at WFA.

Recently, God has been speaking to me about my prayers. I have been learning that as His child, we have access to all that He has - which is absolutely everything. All we have to do is ask. Now, whether we receive it or not is completely up to God because He knows what is for our benefit.

However, we can still ask. We can pray big, bold prayers knowing that if God wills it, it will happen. He is able to do way more than we could ever ask or imagine. God can exceed even the biggest requests we could think to ask for. And He truly wants to.

I think we can get into an attitude in our prayers where we don't want to ask too much. Whether it is because we don't believe it will happen or we don't want to overstep our bounds with God because we feel so unworthy of anything more than the bare minimum.

I don't know about you but I am in need of some flat-out miracles in my life. Yesterday, God convicted me while I was praying. I tend to say "just" a lot when I pray.
Like "please just help me get through this day."
And God was saying "just? Just help you with this? That's it? Don't you want more? Ask for it. Don't keep saying just ... that limits what you are asking for. Ask for that AND MORE. I want to come in and do more than you could imagine but you need to stop saying just."

That really woke me up. I honestly do say the word just over and over in my prayers. I know some of you do, too. I feel like God is challenging me to change my "justs" to "AND MORE" and see what happens.
Please help me get through this day "AND MORE!"
Let me be a light for you "AND MORE!"

I believe the miracles will start when we truly start asking for them, and believing that God will provide "AND MORE!"

Nurture Newsletter / November 11

Nurture Newsletter
November 11, 2014

Three years ago, God placed an event on my heart called Refresh. Refresh was for a day for moms. A day to meet other moms and to be "refreshed." This was a first in a lot of ways. The first event at WFA just for moms, the first time I was involved with women's ministries, and definitely the first event I had ever put on.

From this event, Nurture was really born. The women's board allowed me to take the passion I had for helping other moms and establish Nurture as our mom ministry at WFA. Soon Little Blessings was started, play dates planned, and other groups and get togethers organized. These all make up the Nurture ministry.

I have had the pleasure of working with some really great women as they've led some of these groups. Amy Prebil (Little Blessings), Becky Boggio (Moms in Prayer), Aimee Heder (play dates), and Sara Wiesner (Nurture prayer team) have made up the Nurture team and have been working very hard serving you. I appreciate them so much.

Following God's will can be such a crazy adventure and I have sure been on one the past 3-4 three years! I have grown so much and learned so much and been stretched so much and yet the growing and learning and stretching never ends; it continues on.

A few weeks ago, I felt like God was asking me to step down from Nurture. At first I thought that this made no sense - for so many reasons. And it scared me. I didn't want to. I love ministering to moms and it gives me great joy.

I prayed about it that week and finally on Friday, I asked God for confirmation so I would really know. That Friday was the night of the Reign event. That night I felt like God confirmed it for me through the speaker. When she said that sometimes you have to let go of the good in order to have the great, I knew that was my confirmation.

The things God calls us to do sometimes are hard. In fact, I've found most of the time they are hard or scary. But I've also found that they are the most fulfilling and that God is right there with you the entire time.

My verse this year has been Isaiah 41:13 "For I, The Lord your God, hold your right hand; I, Who say to you, Fear not, I will help you!" And boy, have I clung to that all year.

While I am sad to move on from the Nurture ministry, I am also excited. I am excited to announce that SARA WIESNER will be the new Nurture coordinator.I am excited for her and for where this ministry is going to go. I completely believe she will be able to take this ministry further than I ever could have. I am excited for me. God has made it clear that my main ministry focus right now is in my own home. That is our first and most important ministry after all, isn't it? I am excited to see what God's plans are for our family as He works in and through us.

Thank you all for being so supportive these last few years! It has honestly been my pleasure to serve in this area. Please pray for the future of Nurture and Sara as we make this transition.

Lastly, thank you to Becky Boggio for leading our Moms in Prayer group for the past 2 years! Completely unrelated to my decision, she has decided to step down from leading this group for now. She also feels that she needs to be more available to her family and their needs at this time.

Becky, you are such a blessing to us and your heart for moms and the students in the area is such a beautiful thing!!

Love you all!
:) Jamie

2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
            His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
            His love endures forever.
4 to him who alone does great wonders,
            His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
            His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
            His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
            His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
            His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
            His love endures forever.

10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
            His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
            His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
            His love endures forever.

13 to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder
            His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
            His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
            His love endures forever.

 16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
            His love endures forever.

17 to him who struck down great kings,
            His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
            His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
            His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
            His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
            His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
            His love endures forever.

23 He remembered us in our low estate
            His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
            His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
            His love endures forever.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
