INTRODUCING: 1st FRIENDS

It's my pleasure to take this month to introduce our play date leader, Aimee Heder.  She is amazing friend, wife, mother of 2 adorable boys, and someone you will surely be blessed by.  Thank you, Aimee, for all your hard work!  Here's a little message from Aimee about what to expect with play dates this summer:

Hi Ladies, 

My names is Aimee Heder, and I'm the play date leader for 1st SISTERHOOD. With warm weather on its way, we are going to be starting the play dates again soon!  Another change is that we will now be calling our group "1st FRIENDS."  Some of you may remember that we used to called them Nurture play dates, but I'm very excited about the new name as it goes along with all the new changes in WFA women's ministries right now.

The kickoff of our 1st FRIENDS play date is going to be April 28th at 10 a.m. We will be meeting at Frame Park in Waukesha. Feel free to bring a lunch of a snack if you would like.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me at Aimee.heder@gmail.com or to let me know if you are going to be late so we can look for you! If for some reason we would need to reschedule or cancel, I'll send out an email or put a post on Facebook. The full schedule of play dates can be found on the MOTHERHOOD blog along with a link to a map of our next location.  Be sure to subscribe so that the latest updates can be sent to your e-mail. 

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you ladies and your kiddos! Pray for good weather for our first play date.  It's going to be a fun summer, and I can guarantee you won't want to miss these dates. Have a wonderful day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*SINGLE MOM'S EVENT

Our 1st SISTERHOOD women's ministry is looking for people to sponsor a single mom for a special Mother's Day event on May 8th.  Suggested sponsorship is $50, but any amount would be a huge blessing.  This money will provide dinner, gift, giveaways, and an amazing speaker for a mom.  It will also provide dinner and activities for her children.  Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored!  See Sara Wiesner (swiesner@wi.rr.com) for questions.

*SCRAPPERS AND CRAFTERS

Saturday, April 25th from 9-4 pm

Attention Ladies! Bring your own supplies for your favorite hobby (scrabbooking, card making, knitting, etc.) and come work on them alongside other ladies from WFA.  You can come and go at anytime throughout the day.  For more information, please contact Maggie Scherr at maggiescherr@yahoo.com. 

*LITTLE BLESSINGS

April 23rd at 7:00 pm

A message from Amy Prebil, the leader of Little Blessings:  "Little blessings is a group of women with young children.  It started out for women who were pregnant up to babies a year old.  We quickly found we needed continued support and encouragement and opened it to all moms with young children.  My passion is for mothers and young children, and I love meeting with these amazing women.  We meet the 4th Thursday of every month in the cafe.  Our group is full of laughter, encouragement, support, and prayer.  God is the center of this group, and He has blessed us all with such great relationships and compassion for each other.  We love seeing this group continue to grow and flourish.  Please call me if you are interested in joining us (262-422-7516.)"

*FOOD PANTRY AND SOLES FOR JESUS COLLECTIONS

In case you weren't aware, we have a collection point in the foyer for the Waukesha Food Pantry, and one in Uptown for shoes to be donated to Soles for Jesus.  We collect all year for these ministries. 

*NURSERY NEWS

During cold and flu season our nursery is being disinfected weekly and paying attention to symptoms of illness to keep it a well baby area.  If you are parents of nursery aged kids, would you consider volunteering once a month to help with our growing population?  Please see Amy Prebil in the nursery or email amyprebil@gmail.com with questions or interest. 

*TREEHOUSE TREASURES

Our church family is growing!  Many babies have come and will be coming in the next few weeks/months. We would love to bless our new moms with a gift bag filled with newborn items (diapers, wipes, baby bath items, onesies, gowns, or swaddlers).  Amy Prebil organizes this and has set up a Treasure Chest back in our nursery area to accept item donations.  Please also contact her if you are interested in donating any handmade items.
